If you hold ZL during the jump, Link is A LOT more likely to not drop the bomb it seems.
Hold ZL, jump, sheathe your bow mid-air and immediately take off your shield. 187

@KlericYT3 years ago Small correction: You can Bow Lift Smuggle the big ass barrel; though I've been unsuccessful with hovering with it. Link keeps dropping it during the step up animation. 313

@realmitakotarolast year By the way if you guys are having a hard time on the X + B + + (especially if you are on joy cons) you can press - instead of + instead and when you go to the map press + and go unequip your shield that works 4

@saltocorto3 years ago Here's something strange that I found that (I think) is a side effect of not having arrows. After doing the step up animation link will continue to stand with his arms to the side rather than in front of him, heavily altering the way he is pushed by the object, he can gain acceleration way faster but is overall very dificult to control like this
Edit: I should specify that this is with round bombs, I just did square bombs and you basically can't fly with them and I know he also reacts differently with other objects
Edit 2: you can totally fly with square bombs, I think that it depends on the pose you get frozen in ... 8

After you do step 1 which is (ZL+ZR+A),
Step 2 try this:
(Jump button) then press Pause 1st and then press your put away button and then in your menu take off your shield.
So if your jump button is X, it would be
X + B
When you press Pause don't immediately press B. Give it like 1/2 a second ... 3

When you do the setup, keep holding a direction and b and try targeting an npc or enemy, and then press a direction and un target. You will go in the direction you pointed at, but just always facing forwards and you can’t go anywhere else. ... 1

@Alkaris3 years ago While learning this trick I didn't need to hold shield out, also going in a certain direction you want to aim isn't particularly all that easy either. I found it more difficult going in a straight line because the wiggling of the joystick would change Link's direction when doing it too fast. I used the Forgotten Temple as a testbed for going in a straight line to BLSS to the Goddess Statue in the back, on one successful attempt I got as far as the second room wall with the hole in it and using a second BLSS to reach the back, Link kept turning constantly trying to get out though, and the only successful spot to BLSS out is on the ledge where you find the Korok with small bit of the temple debris that can give you a step up.
I also noticed how some step up objects can sometimes send you high up into the air, but never been able to consistently pull it off, it seemed to happen at random. ... 1

@irissteele79902 years ago You can also do it with the laser in the Ishto Soh shrine, and the laser keeps all of its laser properties. You can just go around zapping everything. It’s awesome.

@hestuthebestu51173 years ago Like everyone else here, I was doing some testing and I found that if you carry a small object for the slide, you can actually jump and wind bomb out of the slide. For example, I used one of the pots in the temple of time and slid all the way to hyrule castle. At that point I wasn’t really at the right spot in the castle, so I did a front hop wind bomb out of the bls slide and landed where I needed to be to continue the castle route for any%. Maybe useful I hope? ... 1
