Tucker is a good journalist and probably not stupid, but he never realized that Putin talked about history for a long time not because he believes that Russia has a right to some territory!
The story is told in order to make it clear why everything that happens in Ukraine is so important for Russia! It's a pity that Tucker misunderstood this.
Russia does not need the territories of Ukraine! Russia needs a reliable, kind neighbor who does not praise the Nazis, does not ban the Russian language and does not host foreign troops, but since Ukraine refused to negotiate on this issue in 2022, Russia had to resort to military means and annexation. 1. Mr yanukovich withdrew police forces to negotiate the agreement with the opposition and the agreement was canceled the 2. Russia withdrew forces from kiyev to finalize the negotiations in istanbul and the deal was cancelled a few days later.
now if you (usa, or gb or whoever wanted to defeat russia) want to negotiate you have to do the first step and withdraw your mercenaries and personnel and stop the weapons supply.
