Flamingosis - Avenue of the Fireflies (Official Video) The footage you see is from the Wham-O 1978 World Frisbee Championships, which were held at Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena, California. At the championships you can see various competitive events being played such as freestyle frisbee, long distance throwing, ultimate frisbee, guts, and dog frisbee catching. My dad and uncle competed in freestyle frisbee, where they won 5 world titles together. These championship competitions would attract a good amount of people at the time (around 50,000). Unfortunately, Wham-O and Pepsi would stop sponsoring these world frisbee championships, and in effect there was less viewership and spectators of these events as time went on. I took this existing frisbee footage and edited it to "Avenue Of The Fireflies" to highlight the golden age of frisbee as it gained popularity in all sorts of different events. I still think it's the sport of the future, and believe it will receive recognition by the masses once again, sooner or later.
