Individually handcrafted cookies are some of the most classic things that Joyce makes. Each date and nut cookie is decorated by hand. Karabij cookies are famous and considered the greatest Aleppo dessert. They are served with natif, a homemade marshmallow-like dessert topping flavored with orange blossom water. See Joyce's other videos on how to make natif, and also on how to make clarified butter, an important ingredient in these cookies. Enjoy! The women in our church are gearing up now as our annual bazaar is coming in the fall. We will be making mideast sweets as well as cheese , sfeeha, and have a lot of patience in your directions and your fine motor skills are enviable. God bless you .. ...Expand 3

@oneitalia23126 years ago So very beautiful joyce!
how lucky you must feel while you' re devoting your time to making and presenting these little morsels of lov id="hidden6"e. May i ask you a question? After you have worked making the cookies, buying the bestthem on lovely plates, perhaps with paper doilies with special loved ones in mind. Maybe you have a family member or a friend named barbara, so for barbara' s feast day, you give her a beautiful gift. So absolutely loving on your part. My question to you is: what if no one appreciates it? What if the intendeddoes not thank you? What if no one thanks you? Do you look for a hug, a little kiss, an attitude of gratitude? Would you do it again and again, holiday after holiday, for people close to you who don' t thank you?
