Ethics & Society: Trust in autonomous systems
AI has the potential to influence our choices, opinions and our access to resources. It’s already used to select job applicants, choose a cancer treatment approach and even optimise insurance premiums. But can we ensure AI is fair to everyone — and trusted by everyone? This session looks at the risks of adopting AI at scale, how we can reduce these risks without restricting progress and the critical role the public plays in this.
Featuring:
Jack Stilgoe - Associate Professor - UCL
Gopal Ramchurn - Director of the UKRI Trustworthy Autonomous Systems Hub - University of Southampton
Kate Devlin - Senior Lecturer in Social & Cultural AI - King's College London (Moderator)
