In this lesson, you will learn how to order in a restaurant. This English language lesson will help students role play a useful conversation between a server, also known as a waiter or waitress, who works in a restaurant and a customer. By watching and practicing the phrases, expressions and questions used in this English language learning lesson, students will develop the skills and confidence to communicate in English while traveling or living in English speaking countries. Some key expressions used in this lesson are: How many people are in your party? Are you ready to order? Can I have a few more minutes? I'm not ready to order. Have you decided on your order? What's the special today? Do you have any specials today? Yes, I'll have the daily special. Does the meal come with anything else? Yes, it comes with a side dish. Yes, it comes with two side dishes. You can choose between a baked potato and fries. Would you like anything to drink? Anything to drink? Could I have some water, please? Bottled water or tap? I'll have an iced tea. Do you have unsweetened iced tea? Do you have any soft drinks? I'll have a coke. What kind of dressing would you like on your salad? We have Ranch, Vinaigrette, French, Italian, Blue Cheese, Thousand Island, and Caesar's. Could I have the dressing on the side? I'll be right back with your drinks. I'll have a sirloin steak. I'll have a ribeye steak. How would you like that cooked? Ways we can order beef... rare, medium rare, medium, medium well, well done An entree has the same meaning as a main dish. Did you leave any room for dessert? No, thank you. I'm full. Well, what desserts do you have? Pie a la mode and carrot cake are both popular desserts in the U.S. Would you like any coffee or tea with your dessert? Excuse me, could we have the check, please? Here you are. Thank you.
